Happy World Quantum Day!
Sundays are for sipping coffee, long reads, and our newsletter, of course. Enjoy this curation of easy-to-peruse links & resources in and around quantum.
I love to hear from you! Send me a message at [email protected] for musings, for fun, or for insight if it so appeals to you.
IN TODAY’S ISSUE:
3 weekend links to browse: Wigner’s Friend, Planck’s constant, and a Fermilab tour
2 resources to check out: a free grad-level Qiskit course and your next Steam purchase

WEEKEND BYTES
In honor of experimental confirmation of a Wigner crystal mentioned in an earlier newsletter, here is IBM’s version of the Wigner’s Friend thought experiment using Qiskit
Check out this coffee & sugar explanation of Planck’s constant in honor of World Quantum Day! (Planck’s constant in eV is 4.14 × 10-15)
5 minute tour of the Quantum Networking Lab at Fermilab

QISKIT QUANTUM INFORMATION & COMPUTATION
This free YouTube series from Qiskit focuses on quantum information & computation at a detailed mathematical level. It is comparative to an advanced undergraduate or introductory graduate level university course. Currently, there are 9 lessons in the series with the most recent one published on March 27, 2024.
QUANTUM FLYTRAP
Just wishlisted Quantum Odyssey on Steam — while still in development, this game is the most intriguing I’ve seen in terms of quantum. Players will be faced with challenging puzzles, minigames, and go 1:1 with other players in this award-winning game based on quantum computing concepts. The release date is yet to be announced, but you can be sure I’ll let you know when the time comes.
ENTANGLED INSIGHTS
Then Bohr retorted, so sharp and too true,
‘Albert, please stop telling God what to do!’
The quantum world, while seeming askew,
Unravels her mysteries for the curious few.
Cheers to being the curious few 🥂
UNTIL TOMORROW.
